STAT MED Urgent Care offers drive-thru Rapid COVID-19 testing with same day results through STAT MED’s network of San Francisco Bay Area urgent care clinics in Brentwood, Concord, Lafayette, and Livermore.
In additional to Rapid Covid-19 testing, we also offer the more traditional PCR testing, with 3-5 day turnaround.
Whether you are experiencing symptoms, suspect exposure, or need a COVID test to return to work, sports, school, for travel, or as part of new protocols for procedures performed by your dentist or other medical professionals, we are here for you.
Stat Med Urgent Care is currently using the Abbott IDNow, a molecular NAAT test with results within 3 hours, as well as the Quidel Antigen COVID test with results within 3 hours of testing. Both have Emergency Use Authorization through the FDA and await full FDA approval as many other tests are.
The swabbing for all COVID-19 tests is nasal swab and/or throat swab, not a deep nasopharyngeal swabbing. Most patient say it tickles.
Stat Med typically performs the swabbing in the clinic parking lot while the patient remains seated in their car, so there is no need to come into the clinic͘.
NOTE: Many airlines use different criteria to approve travelers. STAT MED is not responsible for confirming that the Abbott test is acceptable to any patient’s airline. Please contact your airline to confirm that they accept the Abbott test
Insurance coverage for COVID testing is evolving. The Public Health Emergency (PHE) period has been extended through April 20, 2021. As a result, insurance companies are still required to pay for the COVID test but may not fully cover the visit or administration fees. Please contact your insurance carrier for details or questions regarding your plan coverage.
* The cash price for either the standard COVID-19 rapid or PCR virus tests or the COVID antibody test is $125.
Incorporating COVID Testing in Your Practice Protocols
STAT MED is working with dentists, dental specialists and other health care providers as they re-imagine protocols for re-opening their practices. This includes providing drive-through Covid-19 Testing for patients and N95 Fit Testing for staff.
Some providers are using the COVID-19 Test as part of their pre-op or pre-procedure work up.
