STAT MED uses the 3M FT-30 Qualitative Fit Test Apparatus, which consists of a hood with a collar, nebulizer, and the Bitter and/or Sweet solutions. It uses your sense of taste or smell in order to detect leakage into the respirator face piece under a variety of use cases, including turning your head, speaking and more.

Each participant must bring their own mask -- either N95 or KN95 mask for fitting. Masks are not provided by STAT MED.
