The ImPACT Test is a computer-based test designed to measure 4 areas of brain performance commonly affected by concussions: verbal memory, visual memory, visual motor speed, and reaction time.
For patients who do not have a baseline test on record, there are age-based normal scores to compare.
For ages 5-11, the 10-minute test is taken on an i-Pad. For ages 12-65, the 25-minute test is taken on a desktop computer.
ImPACT test scores are helpful to your provider to determine the severity of a concussion and to track progress toward full recovery.
Our BrainWaves Concussion Care Program at STAT MED offers pre-season baseline ImPACT testing, as well as post-injury ImPACT tests when needed.
